Step Back, Girraween National Park, Queensland, Australia.
This scene in real life was quite dramatic. The force of the running water was quite immense, so much so that it was wreaking some serious havoc on a tree branch that had the misfortune of falling into its influence. In fact the force of the water is so intense that it has eroded these rocks into fascinating shapes over the thousands of years it has been running. With this image I wanted to take that drama, and both simplify it, and make it a little less chaotic, in fact I really wanted to calm this shot down. I feel like through the use of this long exposure I have created a little analogy for the act of stopping to take a look at something before acting upon it, something that we should all do a lot more.
You’re absolutely going to love the quality of this print. Each of my prints are printed on a beautiful Kodak Lustre Paper (unless otherwise specified) that really allows the colours to pop and maintains superb sharpness. I want you to frame this photo and stick it on your wall for years to come!
